Our story
Captain Sal Gozzo began his charter fishing career out of Brielle, NJ, coming out of Manasquan Inlet. There, he fished both inshore and offshore in the canyons off the Jersey coast. Captain Dan Gozzo started fishing alongside his father at the very young age of five and was already comfortable fishing offshore by the age of six. At 20, he earned his captain’s license and began running charters for his father’s business in 2011.
The father-and-son team worked tirelessly and became one of the most recognized tuna fishing charter boat operations off the New Jersey coast.

In 2008, they took their outstanding offshore skills down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, operating out of Morehead City during the winters to allow their tuna clients to fish year-round. However, Captain Sal had first ventured to North Carolina in the mid-’90s for five years when the incredible, world-renowned giant bluefin tuna run appeared off Cape Hatteras. It was during this time that he elevated his tuna fishing expertise to a whole new level. Mentoring his son Dan, the two became an exceptional team, mastering tuna fishing along the Eastern Seaboard.
In 2018, Captain Sal Gozzo headed south to the “Sport Fishing Capital of the World”—Islamorada in the Florida Keys. While offshore fishing remained his specialty, he quickly developed a passion for backcountry fishing, particularly targeting tarpon. Today, his greatest thrill is fly fishing for the elusive silver king. He also expanded his skills to include other flats fishing techniques.
Captain Dan joined his father in 2021 in the Keys, where they continue to create unforgettable memories for their clients. They have added very light tackle spin fishing to their services. Their fleet consists of hybrid 24 SeaHunters and Beavertail skiffs, allowing them to cover the entire fishing spectrum in beautiful Islamorada, Florida. They are also strong proponents of jig-and-pop fishing and love introducing young anglers to the sport.
There is nothing more rewarding than watching a five- or six-year-old catch their very first fish!
